ModuleThe GE Fanuc IC694BEM320 I/O Link Network Interface Module is a member of the RX3i product family that operates as a slave processor in a GE Fanuc I/O Link network system. Once installed in the network, this module is able to interchange data with a master device and it has a selectable number of inputs that varies between 32 and 64 according to the user’s application needs. Many different type of master processors are compatible with the GE Fanuc IC694BEM320 I/O Link Network Interface Module such the GE Fanuc PLCs from Series 90-30 and 90-70, PACSystems devices, GE Fanuc Series 15, 16, and 18 CNCs, Model C CNCs or even GE F-D Mate CNCs.
There is no limit to the number of IC694BEM320 I/O Link Network Interface Modules that can be connected to a single master processor, and the only requirement for connecting them is that there must be enough room for additional power connections to power them all. The module is powered directly from the receiving system backplane, and in most of the systems from GE Fanuc, this power source operates at 5 Volts DC. There are 2 serial communication ports on the front of the GE Fanuc IC694BEM320 I/O Link Network Interface Module and they are compatible with the RS485 and RS422 protocols. The selection of the number of I/O Link connection points to use (32 or 64 inputs) can be easily made by using jumper wires that are located inside the module cover. The open construction of this module means it should not be placed in humid places or exposed to extreme high or low temperatures.
