ModuleThe IC660HHC005 is a communication cable that is used with the Hand Held Monitor with catalog number IC660HHM501. Both these products are designed for establishing communication to Genius IO Blocks for configuration of parameters, monitoring, diagnostics, and troubleshooting. These products are formerly manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation, currently under Emerson Automation. This cable along the HHM device are discontinued products. The IC660HHC005 is a coiled, flexible, black cable. One end of the cable attaches to the communication port available on the top, left side of the Hand-Held Monitor while the other connector end directly fits the Block I/O communication port located on top of the I/O Block terminal, prior to the first terminal. The IC660HHC005 support communication rates such as 153.6 Kbaud standard, 153.5 Kbaud extended, 76.8 Kbaud, 38.4 Kbaud. The maximum cable distance when fully stretched is 5 feet or 1.5 meters and weighs 2 pounds. It is compatible for use with All Genius I/O Block as well as Series Five Genius Bus Controller, Series 90-70 Genius Bus Controller, Series Six Genius Bus Controller with Diagnostics, Series Six Genius Bus Controller without Diagnostics, Series 90-30 GENIUS Communications Module, GENIUS Network Interface (GENI) module, IBM PC Interface Module (PCIM), GENIUS Network Interface (GENI) module with inverted connector, Series 90-70 Remote I/O Scanner, 24/48VDC Bus Switching Module (BSM), 115VAC/125VDC Bus Switching Module (BSM) and all Field control products. The IC660HHC005 can be connected and disconnected to the target module’s 9-pin D-shell Hand-Held Monitor interface at any moment without disrupting the genius I/O network however, caution must be applied to prevent generating vibration and shock when inserting and disconnecting the cable connector.
The IC660HHC005 hand-held monitor cable belongs to GE Fanuc Genius I/O series of I/O modules and accessories. It is a removable, plastic, and coiled communication cable which can be used to communicate with the Genius hand-held monitors (HHMs) and the Genius I/O blocks. This black cable is designed for use with the IC660HHM501 hand-held monitor. It is 5 feet long and it weighs 2 pounds. The communication data rates of the module are 153.6 kbaud standard and 153.5 kbaud extended. It can be used to read the data from specific memory locations in GE Series 90-70, Series Six, and Series Five PLCs that use a hand-held monitor. One end of the IC660HHC005 cable can be connected to the HHM and the other end must be connected to the Genius I/O block or the bus connector. The IC660HHC005 hand-held monitor cable is designed to connect to the Genius I/O block easily. It also has the facilities to configure the module online or offline with an adequately terminated serial bus. This coiled cable provides an electrical path for proper communication. If the users have to add a new device to an existing system or bus, the module must be configured offline. During online configuration, there must be only one hand-held monitor connected with the serial bus to detect the reference addresses automatically without conflicting with other devices and PLCs. If the users need to mount the monitor behind the panel by using metal mounting brackets, they must arrange a cutout in the panel and install a connector for the monitor within the reach of the communication cable of the HHM. The connector helps to mount the HHM permanently and it has terminals for bus cables and the coiled communication cable of the hand-held monitor.
