ModuleThe IC660ELB931 PCI Genius Interface Card is a PCI interface card made by GE Fanuc in the Genius I/O series. It helps to integrate the PC-compatible computer’s PCI slot and single-channel general-purpose controller interface with the Genius serial bus device. The IC660ELB931 PCI Genius Interface Card is compatible with all of the Genius bus communication protocols. The main responsibility of the interface card is to provide the facilities to interface third-party devices such as PLCs, I/O blocks, and CPUs with Genius bus devices. The faceplate of the PCI card has 4-pin right-angle male terminal box connector that has shield out, shield in, Serial 1, and Serial 2 pins to interface with Genius I/O. It also accommodates a DIP switch and a bus connector for easy configuration.
The IC660ELB931 PCI Genius Interface Card can be plugged into the PCI slot of a compatible personal computer. The DIP switch of the module is useful to configure the terminal resistance of the Genius bus. It has 2 LED status indicators for displaying the status of the operation and communication processes of the module. The “Communication OK” LED starts flashing if there is an error while the card is sending and receiving data on the genius serial bus. The “Genius OK” LED turns on if the required power level is available on the card and if the card passes the onboard self-diagnostics test. The IC660ELB931 PCI Genius Interface Card can communicate with up to 32 devices at a 153.6 Kbaud standard baud rate. Its onboard DIP switch offers 75, 100, 120, or 150 Ohms of selectable bus termination resistance. The network cable that is required is a daisy-chain bus cable with single twisted pair cable and a shield cable. It has UL 508/C-UL, UL 1604C-UL, and CE certifications that are required to meet industrial standards.
