ModuleThe IC660ELB922 PC Interface Module is a single-slot, XT/AT interface board from GE Fanuc in the Genius I/O. It comes with a motherboard and 2 daughterboards. The communication between the daughterboards and the host bus is established through the motherboard. Some of the features of the daughterboards include fault management for up to 30 bus devices, updating the I/O controller image continuously, communication with other components in the Genius I/O PLC system, and providing the IBM PC bus optimized RAM. The motherboard comes with a watchdog timer which helps to monitor the system operation in order to shut down the daughterboard if a fault occurs in the host bus system. The board-edge connectors can be used to connect this module with the Genius bus.
The IC660ELB922 dual-channel PC interface module has 2 status indicator LEDs on the faceplate of the daughterboard that are the “Board OK” LED and the “Module OK” LED. This PCIM is compatible with the IBM XT, AT, and CIMSTARI-supporting computers. A handheld monitor can be connected to the module by using an external genius connector. It comes with configurable software for configuring the module easily. The software includes the C language-compatible and the Basic language-compatible library package which offers a high-level interface between the application that the users have developed and the PC interface module. This dual-channel PCIM draws 1.5 Amps of current and uses a 5 Volts DC power source. The motherboard of the PCIM uses 4 bytes of mapped memory space. Each daughterboard of the module has 16 KB of host memory. In order to successfully configure the PCIM and Genius I/O host communication setup, an IBM XT/AT compatible personal computer and the IC660ELB922 PCIM are required.
